The KS 48V-DC DC generator from "Könner & Söhnen" is designed as a backup battery charger for charging 48-54V batteries. The generator is suitable for charging batteries used in PV systems, wind turbines, UPS systems, communication systems, etc.

Highest possible performance

It is a more efficient charging method, as there are no current conversions and the associated energy losses.

High charging power with compact size

High charging power with a small generator size - the design of the generator is similar to that of an inverter generator with all its advantages. It requires 3 to 5 times less space compared to a conventional 230V AC generator and a powerful battery charger that converts the AC voltage into the DC voltage required to charge the battery.

Safe to use

The generator operates in the low safety voltage range (below 60V DC) where no earthing of the generator and no contact protection is required.

Economic efficiency

The higher efficiency of the alternator due to the elimination of unnecessary conversions and the fact that the speed of the engine is adapted to the required power means that fuel costs are reduced compared to traditional methods with 230V alternators and subsequent conversion.

Easy to use

The generator is connected directly to the battery, making it easy to use. The external control function via potential-free contacts allows the generator to be easily integrated into existing power supply systems.

The operating range of the battery voltage should match the operating range of the generator. Thanks to the built-in control unit, the generator constantly monitors the battery voltage in AUTO mode and automatically starts charging the battery when its voltage drops to 48 V or less. The switching delay is approx. 5 seconds. When the battery voltage reaches 53.5-54 V and the charging current of 20 A, the alternator switches off within 30 seconds. In addition to the AUTO mode, the generator also has an EXTERNAL mode, which considerably extends the generator's range of application. In this mode, the generator is controlled externally by potential-free contacts. These can be z.B. programmable "dry contacts" from the inverter or from other devices, which allows the generator to be integrated into different systems.

The KS 48V-DC DC generator is equipped with transport wheels and a carrying handle, which enable easy handling and make mobile use more convenient. The generator z.B. can be used as a backup power source for the batteries of mobile communication base stations.

The reliable Könner & Söhnen engine fulfils all European quality standards, including the EURO 5 emissions standard. The high-quality alternator with copper windings and the company motor ensure trouble-free and long-term operation.

The KS 48V-DC model has the following features:

- Thanks to the built-in control unit, the alternator constantly monitors the battery voltage in AUTO mode and automatically starts charging the battery when its voltage drops.

- The reliable K&S company engine is characterised by high wear resistance, ensures continuous and stable operation and complies with the EURO 5 emissions standard.

- Display of all operating status indicators: low oil indicator, overload and short-circuit protection, fuel gauge.

- Ergonomic control panel with status indicators (voltage, current, overload, oil level), connection terminals, control connections, mode selector switch (manual/external/auto) and rotary switch.

- The KS 48V-DC model is equipped with a transport kit (fold-out carrying handle and wheels), which enables easy transport and extends the range of applications.
