Balcony Solar Kit Flex 880 Wp – Envertech EVT800 – 600 W

With this Balcony Solar Kit with 880 Wp Generate your own solar power right on your balcony. Four monocrystalline, semi-flexible solar modules, each with a power output of 220 Wp, supply the Envertech EVT800 microinverter. This device converts the generated direct current into grid-compatible alternating current for household use.
The solar power is automatically used by the electrical appliances that are currently running. As a result, the refrigerator, router, lighting, chargers, and other appliances draw less energy from the public grid. If more electricity is generated than is needed at any given time, the surplus flows through the electricity meter into the distribution grid.
Each of the four Flex modules weighs only about 3.5 kg and features built-in mounting eyelets. This makes them particularly well-suited for balcony railings where a lightweight module and ease of handling are important.
Four lightweight Flex modules with a total of 880 Wp
The four semiflexible 220-Wp solar modules each measure 1100 × 1080 mm and are only about 3 mm thick without the junction box. Their light weight makes them easier to handle than conventional framed glass modules.
- 880 Wp total power consisting of four solar modules, each with a power rating of 220 Wp
- only about 3.5 kg per solar panel
- Twelve built-in eyelets per module for proper fastening
- MC4-compatible connectors and 4-mm² solar cables
- monocrystalline solar cells with a module efficiency of 20.18%
- High module power output for better utilization of the inverter under less-than-ideal irradiance conditions
Semi-flexible solar modules are bendable, but cannot be folded or kinked at will. Installation, the mounting surface, and the permissible degree of bending must comply with the specifications in the module documentation. Point loads, sharp edges, and installations that are under constant tension must be avoided.
Parallel Connection Using Two MC4-Y Connector Sets
The Envertech EVT800 has two PV inputs, each with its own MPPT tracker. Since the set includes four solar modules, two electrically identical 220-Wp modules are connected in parallel using an MC4 Y-connector set. Each of the two pairs of modules is then connected to a separate PV input on the microinverter.
In a parallel connection, the voltage of a single module remains unchanged, while the currents of the two modules add together. This results in 440 Wp of module power, 42.12 V of MPP voltage, and 10.62 A of MPP current per MPPT input.
The electrical configuration of the two pairs of modules falls within the published input specifications for the Envertech EVT800. This requires that two identical modules be connected in parallel in each case and that the electrical connections be made completely and securely in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Envertech EVT800: Limited to 600 W for Switzerland
The Envertech EVT800 is designed to deliver a maximum AC output of up to 800 W. However, the version intended for this Swiss balcony solar kit is Limited to a maximum AC output power of 600 W and thus takes into account the currently applicable Swiss power limit for plug-and-play photovoltaic systems.
The 600-W limit cannot be changed by the operator via the EnverView app, the monitoring system, or other device settings. Any unauthorized modification is prohibited and may compromise the compliance of the entire balcony solar kit.
Why does a module with 880 Wp of power have an output of 600 W?
Together, the four solar modules provide a rated power output of 880 Wp. However, in the current Swiss version, the Envertech EVT800 limits the AC output power to a maximum of 600 W.
The higher module power helps ensure that the microinverter operates more efficiently even under cloudy conditions, with lower irradiance, high module temperatures, or less-than-ideal sun angles. When irradiance is very high, the AC output power is limited to 600 W.
Prepared for a possible future 800-W regulation
The Envertech EVT800's technical platform is already designed to handle up to 800 W. Should the permissible AC output power for plug-and-play photovoltaic systems in Switzerland be increased to 800 W in the future, the manufacturer can adapt the Swiss 600-W version accordingly.
Such a change does not occur automatically and is not intended by the operator. It may only be implemented once Swiss regulations permit it and an officially approved performance adjustment from the manufacturer or provider is available. In doing so, the applicable requirements for conformity, connection, and registration must be taken into account.
With a total of 880 Wp, the four solar modules generally provide enough rated power to support a potential future AC output of 800 W. Whether this output is actually achieved depends on solar irradiance, orientation, shading, module temperature, and other system losses.
Wi-Fi Monitoring with EnverView
The Envertech EVT800 features built-in Wi-Fi and can be connected to the EnverView app or the Envertech Portal. This allows users to monitor, among other things, current power output, operating status, and energy generated.
To ensure stable data transmission, a sufficient Wi-Fi connection should be available at the installation site. The monitoring system is used for display and monitoring purposes. The 600 W limit specified for Switzerland cannot be changed by the operator through this system.

Reporting Requirements and Use in Switzerland
In Switzerland, plug-and-play photovoltaic systems currently may not exceed an AC output of 600 W per subscriber connection or electricity meter. The responsible distribution system operator must be notified in writing prior to commissioning. The declaration of conformity for the complete set must be submitted at that time.
Depending on the building and installation location, additional requirements may include the landlord’s consent, a resolution by the condominium owners’ association, or local building code regulations.
Should the permissible power limit in Switzerland be raised to 800 W in the future, the regulations published at that time will apply. Any modification to the EVT800 may therefore only be made after a corresponding change in the law and official approval by the manufacturer or supplier.
Solar Energy Yield and Self-Consumption
Actual output depends on location, orientation, tilt, shading, temperature, and mounting type. Because the module power is higher than the AC output power, the microinverter can more frequently deliver high usable power even under less-than-ideal conditions.
Solar power provides the greatest economic benefit when it is consumed directly in one's own household. Appliances with programmable timers should therefore be operated during sunny hours whenever possible.
