Blue Smart IP22 charger

The Blue Smart IP22 charger is the new professional battery charger with built-in Bluetooth! The Blue Smart IP22 charger can be used with devices in your workshop or with motor vehicles such as (classic) cars, motorbikes, boats and motorhomes.

Bluetooth Smart

The wireless solution for monitoring voltage and current, changing settings and updating the
charger when new functions become available.

High efficiency

With an efficiency of up to 94%, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard.
Furthermore, once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than 0.5 watts, which is around five to ten times better than the industry standard.

Adaptive 6-stage charging algorithm:

The Blue Power charger is characterised by its microprocessor-controlled, "adaptive" battery management. Adaptive means that the charging process is automatically adapted to the type of battery utilisation.

Fully programmable charging algorithm

Constant voltage, float voltage and storage voltage as well as the reconditioning setting and the
temperature compensation value can be programmed using the Bluetooth app. After activating expert mode, the app can be used to change virtually all the parameters and time limits used by the charging algorithm.

Storage mode: less maintenance and ageing when the battery is at rest

Storage mode is always activated if no discharge has taken place within 24 hours. The storage mode is then lowered to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimise gas development and thus prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the gassing voltage level. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, which are the two main causes of premature battery failure.

Also charges lithium-ion batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are charged with a simple constant current phase - constant voltage phase -
charge maintenance voltage phase algorithm.

Recovery function for fully discharged batteries

Will initiate charging even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts. Restores the connection to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with integrated disconnect function.

The NIGHT and LOW settings

If the device is in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50 % of the nominal output and the charger operates completely silently. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be cancelled manually.

Overheating protection

The output current is reduced if the temperature rises to 50 °C, but the Blue Smart charger does not fail.

Log for forty cycles

The history page shows the history data over the lifetime of the charger and detailed statistics over the last 40 charging cycles.

VE.Smart Networking

The VE.Smart-Netzwerk is a wireless device-to-device (D2D) communication network between Victron products via Bluetooth Smart. This option enables battery voltage and temperature compensation as well as current measurement. The charging process can be optimised with VE.Smart-Netzwerk: A Smart Battery Sense, a Smart Battery Monitor or a SmartShunt can be used to transmit battery voltage and temperature to one or more chargers. A Smart Battery Monitor or SmartShunt also transmits the battery current.

Synchronised parallel charging

Synchronise up to ten battery chargers in one VE.Smart-Netzwerk so that they charge a battery as one large charger. The chargers synchronise the charging algorithm with each other. They switch simultaneously from one state of charge to another, for example from constant current to constant voltage. Synchronised parallel charging has several interesting advantages:

- Redundancy: If one charger fails for any reason, the other chargers will continue to work.
- Flexibility: If more power is needed, you can simply add a charger to the network.
- Cost: Multiple low power chargers usually cost less than one high power charger.
- Installation: Multiple low power chargers may be easier to fit into tight spaces
