Integrated BMS and safety switch
The SuperPack batteries are extremely easy to install and no additional components are required.
The internal switch disconnects the batteries in case of deep discharge, overcharge, low or high temperature disconnect.
!!! Attention this battery has no Bluetooth with charge level indicator etc !!!
Protected against improper use
A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulphation in the following cases:
- If it is used for a long time in an insufficiently charged state (e.g. the battery is rarely or never fully charged).
- If it is left in a partially discharged or, worse still, fully discharged state.
A lithium-ion battery does not need to be fully charged. In fact, the operating life increases slightly if the battery is only partially
charged instead of fully charged. This is a significant advantage of lithium-ion batteries compared to lead-acid batteries.
The SuperPack batteries interrupt the charging or discharging current if the maximum nominal values are exceeded.
Efficient
In many applications (especially off-grid solar systems), the energy utilisation factor can be of crucial importance.
The energy utilisation factor of a charge cycle (discharge from 100 % to 0 % and recharge to 100 %) of an average lead-acid battery is approx.
80 %.
In contrast, the energy utilisation rate of a charging cycle of a lithium-ion battery is 92 %.
The charging process of a lead-acid battery becomes particularly inefficient when the 80 %-Marke state of charge has been reached. This leads to
energy utilisation rates of only 50 %. This value is even lower for solar systems, as they require energy reserves for several days (the
battery is in operation at a state of charge of between 70 % and 100 %).
A lithium-ion battery, on the other hand, still achieves an energy utilisation rate of 90 %, even if it is in a shallow state of discharge.
