TBS DCM Class-T Fuse Holder 110–200 A 60 V M10

Important information regarding the size: This holder is intended exclusively for the smaller Class T fuse sizes ranging from 110 to 200 A. A 200-A Class T fuse is mechanically smaller than a 225-A fuse; therefore, a 225-A fuse will not fit in this holder. For 225–400 A, the TBS holder TBS-5073850 is required; for 450–600 A, the TBS-5073880 holder is required.

Class T fuse holders for high-current DC circuits

The TBS DCM Class-T fuse holder (110–200 A) is designed to securely and mechanically hold a properly sized Class-T fuse in battery and DC distribution systems. The module is part of the TBS DC Modular family and combines a compact modular design with easily accessible M10 connections and a transparent cover.

The holder is valid until 60 V DC specified. The voltage rating of a fuse must not be confused with the holder’s permissible system voltage: Even if a Class T fuse is marked with 125 V DC, for example, the manufacturer’s limit of 60 V DC remains the determining factor for this fuse holder.

Advantages in System Design

  • Unique backup range: Mechanically compatible with Class T fuses rated from 110 to 200 A.
  • M10 connectors: Designed for rugged cable lug connections in high-current DC circuits.
  • DC Modular Grid: A 1 × 3 grid pattern with a 150 × 50 mm footprint facilitates a well-organized system layout.
  • Conductive components: Tinned busbars made of high-purity copper; bolts, washers, and nuts made of stainless steel.
  • Protected and accessible installation: Transparent cover with break-out cable access points and a locking mechanism accessible from above.
  • Flexible cable routing: The connector design allows for dual, mirror-image cable lug connections.

Suitable Applications

The fuse holder is suitable for professional low-voltage DC systems in which a Class T fuse in the 110–200 A range is required. Typical, technically sound applications include:

  • Main battery and inverter circuits with a properly sized Class T fuse insert rated from 110 to 200 A;
  • DC power distribution systems in RVs, expedition vehicles, and mobile workshops;
  • Electrical systems on boats and yachts when installed in a dry, indoor location;
  • Off-grid systems, stand-alone systems, and stationary battery storage systems up to 60 V DC;
  • Commercial DC power supplies with appropriately designed cabling and protection coordination.

The appropriate fuse rating is not determined solely by the fuse holder. Key factors include the maximum current rating of the cables, battery, connected devices, and fuse holders, as well as the requirements of the overall system.

Compatible Class T Fuses

TBS refers to its DCM Class-T fuse holders as the series Littelfuse JLLN, , Cooper Bussmann, or Edison JJN and TJN as well as Mersen A3T. In addition to the series, the 110–200 A mechanical assembly must also be correct.

Required separately: The Class T fuse must be selected separately to match the system and the 110–200 A range. Before ordering, check the manufacturer's designation, current rating, mechanical dimensions, and voltage ratings.

Installation Instructions

The installation must be performed in accordance with the TBS Manual and in line with the design of the entire DC system. The following points are particularly important for ensuring a reliable, low-temperature connection:

  • Install only in a dry indoor location.
  • Size the conductor cross-section and cable lugs for the expected load current.
  • Tighten the M10 nuts to the torque of 22 Nm recommended by TBS.
  • Place the spring washers and flat washers directly under the nut; do not place any washers between live contact surfaces.
  • Apply strain relief to the connection cable to prevent excessive mechanical stress on the bracket.
  • Cut out the side cover only at the cable entry points that are actually needed; tighten the cover's knurled screws by hand only.

Conclusion

The TBS DCM Class-T fuse holder (110–200 A) is the ideal housing for Class-T fuses in the corresponding mechanical assembly for professional DC systems up to 60 V. The clear size classification, M10 connections, the standardized DCM grid, and the service-friendly design facilitate a clear and professional installation.

Frequently Asked Questions About the TBS DCM Class-T Fuse Holder 110–200 A

  • Will a 225-A Class T fuse fit in this 200-A fuse holder?

    No. The 200 A model belongs to the smaller Class T series (110–200 A). Starting at 225 A, a larger mechanical design is used, which requires the TBS DCM Class T fuse holder 225–400 A (Part No. 5073850).

  • Which Class T fuse series are compatible?

    TBS refers to Littelfuse as JLLN, Cooper Bussmann as Edison JJN and TJN, and Mersen as A3T. In addition, the fuse must be part of the mechanical assembly 110–200 A belong to.

  • Is the Class T fuse included in the package?

    Select the appropriate Class T fuse separately based on the circuit, cable, battery, and connected devices. Before ordering, check the current rating, size, series, and voltage rating.

  • Can the holder be used in a 125-V DC system?

    No. The fact that a fuse has been cleared does not automatically apply to the holder. The TBS DCM Class-T fuse holder is rated by the manufacturer for a maximum of 60 V DC specified.

  • What is the torque specification for the M10 connections?

    TBS recommends 22 Nm for M10 nuts. In addition, follow the sequence for nuts and washers specified in the manual and ensure that the cables have sufficient strain relief.
