Orion XS 12/12V - 70A DC/DC Charger - New Product

The Orion XS was developed from the ground up and redefines adaptive DC-DC charging. Designed for use in dual-battery systems charged by a (smart) alternator. This device not only delivers top-notch performance but also ensures the safety of your system.

With configurable input and output currents, you stay in control and can rely on your Smart BuckBoost to run at full power up to 40°C. The innovative cooling technology of the aluminum circuit board delivers an astonishing 98% efficiency without the need for fans.

As an integral part of your Victron system, the Orion XS offers comprehensive (remote) monitoring and control options, giving you complete control over your device and system.

Configurable charging

Precisely adjust the input and output current using simple controls. This helps protect alternators from overload and ensures the service battery is charged correctly, especially with smart alternators.

Parallel connection to increase output current

An unlimited number of Orion XS units can be connected in parallel. This makes it easy to scale the output current to meet your system’s requirements.

Adaptive charging algorithm

The Orion XS features customizable charging algorithms and 8 preset battery modes. For lead-acid batteries, these settings ensure optimal absorption times for both shallow and deep discharges.

Comprehensive electronic protection

The Orion XS is equipped with comprehensive electronic protection against overload, short circuit, and over-temperature.
It automatically reduces the output power when the maximum product temperature is reached.

Low-temperature shutdown and undervoltage protection

To prevent damage to lithium batteries, the charger automatically shuts down at low temperatures and when the input voltage drops below a user-configurable threshold. This protects the starter battery from deep discharge.

Dust- and waterproof

The Orion XS is dust- and waterproof and has an IP65 rating.
The external fan is IP20
